Storytelling Workshops

You too can enjoy the sense of fulfilment in telling traditional tales.

My storytelling workshops help you to learn stories from the inside, so you can tell them from the heart. My storytelling workshops include techniques for getting hold of the bare bones of a story and then putting flesh on the bones.

You can work with my stories or with favourite stories which you bring.

These are practical workshops. You will work in depth on your chosen story. At the end of each workshop you will have your chance to tell your story to the group.

I run workshops for specific groups. You can book a storytelling workshop for your group or for your school INSET day.

There are five workshops available. These are normally one day workshops. However, I sometimes run shorter workshops, for example as part of a wider day of activities.

Spring of Life I : How to Do Storytelling with Early Years Children

Teachers and TAs, you can discover how you can run an engaging, interactive storytelling session with early years children.

The workshop concludes with a storytelling session for the group where you will have a chance to tell a story as if to early years children.

Spring of Life II : How to Do Storytelling with Primary Age Children

Teachers and TAs, you can discover how you can run an engaging, interactive storytelling session with primary age children.

The workshop takes account of the differences in approach between storytelling to Years 1-2. 3-4, and 5-6.

The workshop concludes with a storytelling session for the group where you will have a chance to tell a story as if to primary age children.

Storytelling with an Adult and Family Audience : Bones and Flesh

You can discover how you can run an engaging, interactive storytelling session with an adult and family audience.

The workshop concludes with a public storytelling session for the friends and families of group members where you will have a chance to tell a story and show what you have found you can do.

Storytelling with Primary Age Children : A Sustainable World

Teachers and Teaching Assistants, you can discover how you can run an engaging, interactive storytelling session with primary age children on the issues of sustainability. The workshop centres around a collection of traditional stories which highlight these crucial questions for the contemporary world.

The workshop concludes with a storytelling session for the group where you will have a chance to tell a story as if to primary age children.
